Spirit of Adventure is based in the heart of the Dartmoor National Park which is set within the picturesque South West of England. This is a great base for providing fantastic adventure trips. Unlike other wild areas, Dartmoor is as yet unspoilt and has a magic of its own.

We also work in many other areas of the UK.

Climbing

The South West of England boasts some of the best climbing venues in the country, with the added bonus of higher temperatures and more sunshine hours on average than the rest of the country! We regularly use the beautiful weathered granite of Dartmoor, the limestone quarries and sea cliffs of the south coast and the memorable sea washed pink granite of the Cornish coastline.

Spirit of Adventure has gained an excellent reputation throughout the South of England for safe, professional and expert instruction on all grades of rock.

Many guests book exclusively for guiding on classic climbs and for personal tuition.

Kayaking

Spirit of Adventure offers you a unique programme of kayaking courses, holidays and adventures. Either here in Devon or on the River Wye for a more adventureous  journey. We offer competent, safe instruction at all levels. Our highly motivated team of BCU coaches are always ready to help and give advice. Whether you are trying to paddle your kayak in a straight line or planning a more exciting journey either here in the UK or even abroad, we have the experience to help you.

Adventure weekends

If you are looking for an exciting, challenging break that includes a variety of outdoor skills then try one of our adventure weekends.

Groups, Schools, Hen/Stag Weekends

We will arrange tailor-made adventure weekends for all groups, of all abilities. You can choose what itinerary best suits your group's ability ensuring everyone has a fantastic time. Give our office a call and we will help you organise your accommodation as well as a suggested itinerary.

Spirit of Adventure is inspected regularly by the Adventure Activity Licensing Authority (AALA) and has been granted a licences to run canoeing, climbing and mountaineering activities. The authority inspects our equipment and safety procedures and ensures that all our staff are suitably qualified.

We are an approved British Canoe Union (BCU) centre which certifies that our kayaking, canoeing and water based sessions are run to the highest standards and that our equipment is up to date and well maintained.

Spirit of Adventure has a safety record second to none. We believe that the safety of all participants and instructors overrides all other concerns. You can be assured that your holiday with us will be safe, adventurous and great fun.
